Born in England and raised in Australia, Kevin Judd embarked on his vinous journey at Roseworthy Agricultural College in Adelaide, where he earned a degree in oenology. As one of Marlborough’s pioneering winemakers, his career is beautifully intertwined with the rise of New Zealand wine on the global stage.

In 1983, Kevin took the helm as the founding winemaker at Cloudy Bay, a role that would prove transformative for both him and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. For 25 years, he nurtured Cloudy Bay's wines from their very beginnings, shaping them into an industry icon. After the winery was acquired, Kevin ventured forth to establish his own label, Greywacke, in 2009. Named after the unique bedrock that underpins New Zealand’s vineyards, Greywacke embodies his passion for the land.

With a philosophy rooted in non-interventionist winemaking, Kevin embraces the magic of wild yeasts, crafting wines that are as expressive and true to its origin. His Greywacke Wild Sauvignon, along with his Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, are all made exclusively with indigenous yeasts. As Kevin puts it, this approach lends “personality to a wine, adding another dimension, a savory element and texture.”

Join Kevin and Kimberley Judd for a deep dive of Greywacke wines, including some aged gems and a few rare selections that are not available in BC market. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
