Port is well known as dessert wine or as a winter warm up, and it is much more adaptable than one thinks. Please join Joao Rebelo, Export Director for The Fladgate Partnership as he guides you through the different styles of port and several age statements to determine just how different a 10 year old tawny is from a 40 year old. Several tawny and ruby ports will be sampled as you learn just how versatile these delightful drinks are.
João Rebelo was born in Porto, Portugal in 1975. Through his family and friends, he was introduced at a young age to the Douro Region and it’s wine production. Educated in Porto, João graduated in 1998 from Universidade Católica in Porto majoring in Business Administration. Later in 2005, he graduated from ESADE holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Barcelona, Spain.
Before joining The Fladgate Partnership, his 22-year professional career was developed in a multinational company, the first 5 years in the financial area and the remaining years in the Sales & Marketing area. João has lived in South Africa, US, Canada and Spain.
João occupies the position of Sales & Marketing Manager, responsible for The Fladgate Partnership brands in North America.
