About Picard Family.

Located at the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, Maison Famille Picard was founded in 1951 by Louis Félix Picard, then owner of 2 hectares of vines. Soon after, Michel, his son, took over the estate and steadily increased their holdings, first in Mercurey and Rully in the Côte Chalonnaise before buying the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet in 1997.

Today Domaines & Maison Famille Picard represents 135 hectares of vines in property, including 35 in the Côte de Beaune (Domaine Famille Picard, Au Pied du Mont Chauve) and 100 in the Côte Chalonnaise with three different estates: Château de Davenay, Domaine Voarick, Domaine Levert Barrault.

Since 2019, all the estates are organic / biodynamic certified. This step has been achieved under the supervision of CEO Francine Picard, Michel’s daughter and Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne who worked  eight years with Anne-Claude Leflaive at the prestigious Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet.

Sorting, pressing, fermentation, racking and bottling is all carried out according to the lunar calendar. Only natural yeasts are used during fermentation and particular attention is paid to the selection of oak casks as well as to the bottling date, to emphasize the different characteristics of each site.
