We are excited to introduce the new President of the CAPS BC Chapter, Ms. Lesley Brown.
Lesley is the BC Sales Manager at Bacchus Group and a long time Industry professional and wine educator with extensive experience in retail, sales and education. She takes the helm at an exciting time for CAPS BC and is looking forward to growing the chapter and making it even more relevant to members. When asked about plans for CAPS, Lesley said, “It’s an exciting time – we have a solid foundation and now it’s time to grow. I look forward to delivering even more value for our members by offering more tastings, professional development opportunities for both seasoned and new sommeliers and of course continuing with our competitions. I am very excited for the future.”Lesley is supported by a new-look Board, with some new faces, new responsibilities and lots of enthusiasm – we’ll name names soon!
Expect more from CAPS next year. Plans are still being made, but look for news soon on:
- the launch of CAPS Professional Sommelier Certification in 2018;
- 2018’s Best Somm BC Competition;
- more tastings and socials where you can kept in touch with trends and connect with your peers.
We also say a sad goodbye and a huge thank you to the first president of the BC Chapter, Michelle Bouffard. Michelle’s vision and tireless energy steered us through our launch and culminated in the highly successful Best Sommelier of Canada Competition in Vancouver last week. What a high note you left us on, Michelle. Merci et bonne chance dans votre prochaine grande aventure!
Finally, a call out to our partners who understand what we do and have supported us in our journey in a very big way! E&J Gallo, Lifford and and Mark Anthony, thank you so very much!
Be a part of our exciting future. Let us know your ideas for future CAPS events.
